Default Head Position

I tried deleting the quickview save files in the game folders to reset all the quickview saves I made, I adjusted them all for VR like centering the 109's instead of having it centered on the gunsight, but anyways, I want to reset them all and deleting them isn't working. This is on the steam version. Anyone got any ideas? Really don't feel like starting up each plane in quickmode to fix the view for trackir.

In the folder for the snapviews theres a folder called defaults. Copy the files in that folder over to the snapviews folder and you get the defaults back.

Edit: the folder is data/luascripts/snapviews I believe

Thanks I will try that. Just deleting them it's like steam keeps them in the cloud or something it'd weird.

I'm having this problem also. I reset and now I don't have a map option. "O" isn't even bound to anything.

Placing the default files from the default folder into the scripts folder worked, guess they are there for backups. I backed up my custom quick sets for when I want to go back to VR.

I have noticed on some game videos that the center position is set to align with the 109 and 190 gun sight. In CLOD there is a lean to gun sight binding....is there a way to set this up to get an offset centering position in BOS?

Yeah, but you have to do it for each plane.

basically, turn off any headtracking you have, go into a quick mission with the plane you want on the ground. Use the keyboard-based head movement and zoom commands to adjust the head position to what you like. Then press (I think) F10 to set the new default head position. Its a bit tricky to get a precise position because the keys move the head so quickly but it is possible.

I hope I explained that right, there was a post on it in the Manuals and Tutorials section but I dont think its stickied so I couldn't find it.

Think he was asking if he could bind a key to lean into the gunsight. That I am not sure of. Also would like to add that if you adjust the movement speed in the camera options you can lower it to help you move the seat more precisely. You'll be able to make tiny precise movements with the slider all the way down.

Oh shoot I think you're right. Sorry. :/

I think you could set up your default head position like this, so its not centred on the gunsight, and then set up some kind of snap view that leans into the gunsight? Maybe that would simulate the way CLOD does it. If you use headtracking a head lean and move forward from an offset default position like this would basically duplicate the system in CLOD, but without head tracking I think the only way would be the snap views.

Thank You, gentlemen for the info on setting this up. Will start to "tinker". I think it says somewhere in the game contract "Must enjoy tinkering....but could be hazardous to your mental health."?
