LP1888 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Sorry if this is in the wrong section please move to correct if not admins thanks Long story short I’ve had a feeling my pc has been running short of what it could do for a while and I went into my bios tonight to try and disable hypertreading. When I was in bios I noticed the wrong cpu name comes up as and i3 8### it should be i5 8600k at 4.5ghz. It comes up with the correct clock speeds just not the name? If I go onto system info on windows it comes up correctly. When playing I only ever seem to get up to 50% cpu usauge career mode and gpu usaug of highest at 45% ( gtx 1070ti) so I’m correct that it’s only using half of its power do you think this could be of the wrong name in the bios makening the comp think it’s s 4core and bottle knecking the gpu. Any help would be greatly appreciated ?
DD_FT- Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 It could be the BIOS 'needs' an update. Visit the MB maker's website and check whether an update is available. (Can't tell whether it will fix the problem though... can't even tell for sure there is a problem )
KoN_ Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Download CPU-z this will give you the correct read out of the cpu you have on your system .
