Camille88 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Hi, in RoF and BoS i got the feeling that the Horizon is to bright and its reducing the filed of view. Anyone got the same feeling? 1
dburne Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I agree it seems pretty bright in BOS, don't recall feeling that in ROF though has been a while since I have flown it. I pretty much attributed the brightness more due to all the snow than anything, don't know if that is why or not though.
Fifi Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 ROF horizon is also white (but can be due to my SweetFX though) but not as much as in BOS. ROF white horizon isn't an issue for plane spotting to me.
AX2 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Maybe is Bloom effect ... ? I wish could turn it off in BoS in RoF you can
Fifi Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Mustang, i'm not sure bloom is affecting horizon (correct me if wrong) but more reflecting surfaces to sun, such as plane parts and house's roof etc... I never turn it in ROF. Edited January 26, 2014 by Fifi
unreasonable Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I am fairly sure Fifi is right and BoS does not use bloom at all. Play RoF with bloom on and it creates huge blooby glowing mushrooms of colour, really unnecessary when you have the good reflections that RoF has. Seems to me that the horizon band is affected by the time of day: dawn patrols in RoF always seem to have a much narrower horizon band than at mid day, for example. When we get the mission editor we will be able to get a better idea.
FuriousMeow Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 It's the high contrast setting. For BoS it could only be disabled via the config file, which I did a few times. With it disabled, though, certain areas on the map where there were snow drifts had strange blue/green colors. So I went back to high contrast enabled. It is what causes a lot of the brightening of the snow, sky, horizon, etc.
Camille88 Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 ROF horizon is also white (but can be due to my SweetFX though) but not as much as in BOS. ROF white horizon isn't an issue for plane spotting to me. But due to the bright horizon i can not see my tracer And it look Cartoonish to me. In RoF i trid everything to reduce it but with no luck. FiFi, i am using your SweeFX File for BoS all the time:) Have you trid to reduce the brightnes of the horizon in RoF?
Fifi Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Not yet Camille. In the waiting, maybe try to lower the BOS gamma setting slider ingame? It could help to reduce a bit. Probably in ROF too. Edited January 26, 2014 by Fifi
Camille88 Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Yes but everthing else gets darker to I`ll be so happy if Devs would chang this. Meybe when they develop the New Sky
