Wind Sounds after 3.005

Wasn't sure if I should put this in the bug section, or if it is just an intentional design change, but:

 

I realize that there were some sound changes in 3.005, including a little bug that needed a hotfix.  The engine sounds are great now.  However, when doing some desperate dive-outs in a Yak-1b earlier, I ended up overspeeding at least twice, like a fool, and breaking off my control surfaces (over 750 kph), the reason being I wasn't getting the same kind of wind sounds that we had before 3.0005.  It used to be that even if you weren't looking at the airspeed indicator, you would know that you had started to push the envelope because the wind sound would increase in volume dramatically.  I'm sure it's there, I just can't hear it, so not getting the same kind of "feel" for the aircraft any more.  And when I would break a control surface off in the past, I would get a very definite "bump" or nudge, (or something) but now, I didn't know until I wondered why the aircraft was getting a roll tendency all of the sudden.

 

I have 4.1 sound on speakers, and a bass shaker (Buttkicker).

 

Is this change intentional, or is it a bug?  I kind of liked it exactly the way it was before, because (regardless if you would hear it or not in real life) it gave you some feedback from the aircraft (in a sim you don't feel the stick shaking, or whatever, so the prominent wind sound was very welcome, and substituted to some extent for a seat-of-the-pants feel)

Not just volume, there was a.. whistle? It sounded fantastic, going from that dull roar of wind to the screaming fury of "oh shit I'm about to fall apart".

I found parts breaking off to be identical though, got a kill with no ailerons today

There are other issues as well. Sound level of engine/exhaust does not change if you poke your head out of the cockpit on ground, closing cockpit all the sudden muffles all sounds even a plane next to you, moving sideways in cockpit makes the wind blast being louder than the engine etc. Lag online causes loss of sounds, especially hit sounds etc.
