Is Tank Crew a Separate Game?

Can people buy and play Tank Crew who don't have any interest in BoS, BoM, BoK, BoBp etc  etc?

If so can you PLEASE separate anything to do it with away from the flight forum? Sub-forum maybe?

Yes there is a slightly sub-forum - totally un-advertised here - but are Tanks something else or what?

 

And I know that the tanks will be useable in BoX and I know that the aircraft will be useable in Tank Crew, but IS IT A SEPARATE TITLE? Can I play Tank Crew without the rest of Box?

Yes they can. Anyone can buy any of the IL-2: Great Battles titles without having to own the other parts and that includes Tank Crew and Flying Circus. One exception is STEAM where you have to own IL-2: Battle of Stalingrad first.

Yes they can but every game module owned can be played with and in the other modules. 

 

One could create a scenario that has a Triplane strafing a Tiger tank with the proper modules.

That's what I thought. So if a tank-addict with no interest in aircraft bought just Tank Crew, would they have access to the other BoX maps and aircraft as AI in multiplayer? And in single-player how would mission building work if you didn't own any of the aircraft in BoX? Would you be limited to ground vehicles only with absolutely nothing going on in the sky above? A good part of the immersion the tank missions I've played so far is achieved by aircraft ground-pounding close to my tank.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Tank Crew is part of the IL-2 Great Battles series and can be played as a separate stand-alone product or be integrated with other Great Battles titles such as Battle of Stalingrad, Battle of Moscow, Battle of Kuban and Battle of Bodenplatte. Combine all titles to create one big WWII air and ground combat simulation. 

 

I imagine it will work in exactly the same way as if you only owned BoM for example, they all run from the same exe. So you have access to all MP maps and AI that is available for whole series, but only player controlled units and SP Maps/content that you own

You can only use the tanks everything else is there as AI units.

There is no 'stand alone version'. There is only one BoX application, which you download regardless of which content you buy (for Steam, you have to buy Battle of Stalingrad first, but that doesn't apply to items bought from the 1C-777 store). Paying for more content just gives access to it on the application.

That is correct. Each great battle battle pack is a standalone. You can buy any individual battle pack and play it without the need of the other battle packs. However in multiplayer and depending on server settings. You will still encounter the other battle pack planes from other players.
