Mod Request: GunCam

Is it feasible to make a Mod that can imitate a Guncam like in this video ... and just by pressing the triggers it records a video?

I have no idea either, probably the modders will say I am nuts, but it would be so awesome .... So, that is why I ask if it possible or is it insane to ask for it. I would pay for such a feature. It would make great videos

A gun camera mod is not feasible because it requires new code. In fact, it would even be rather difficult for the developers as two scenes would need to be rendered simultaneously (gun camera and normal view). That always comes with performance costs. 

 

The closest thing that might be feasible is some sort of script to automate the creation of gun camera footage by playing the mission track with a certain view and recording the screen whenever the guns are used.

Wonder woman view like original IL2 and then toggle thru cockpit views with one option being nothing but the sky.  Very possible but Jason and company need to implement.

That would be a good option. maybe combined that with Nvidia GeForce ...?

It is very possible to do the "guncam" mod without the need to activate the Mods ON in-game:

- Do your show (get some kills) while recording the track
- Install ReShade and apply some adjustments to get it matching the WWII cameras look
- With ReShade installed and working in-game, go replay some of your tracks 
- While replaying, activate ReShade loaded with your guncamera settings (I have the .ini file at my computer at home, may share it per request) and voilà.
