Bf110 E2 MG/FF cannon question

Hi, I have a question regarding the cannon on this plane, it seems that it just stops shooting from cannon when it reaches 240 more rounds. It's indicated that it has 240 rounds left but it just stops shooting from it... Anybody knows why?

Hi Ludov, the MG/FFs didn't use belted ammunition, but were fed by 60 round drum magazines. The remaining 240 rounds are divided up in four magazines, which were stored between the radio equipment and the gunner seat.You have to reload the 20mm guns with the key for 'Reload all guns'.

You can actually sit in the rear gunner position and look towards the front to see the cannons and their magazines. You can see them being reloaded and the remaining drums mounted on the walls. Plus you can check the remaining rounds in the loaded drums through small holes.

 

It's actually a super cool thing that is all modelled there wich people might not know about. Also check how that area looks with the BK3.7 for the 110G2 if you have it.

But you can get guns loaded even if the tail gunner is dead....
