Acumen Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Greetings air warriors - I did do research - including the Internet research and I explored the command options but came up empty. As the topic indicates: How to take screenshots in non-Steam Battle of Stalingrad? In addition, where are they stored? Thanks for the help!
Danziger Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Press the screenshot button. They are stored in a folder called screenshots.

Manipulate the camera however you want. Print Screen key caps a screenshot (BMP format). Screens are stored in the Screenshots folder in your main IL-2 Dir. 1
IckyATLAS Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 (edited) I use a multiple step method. Her it is: 1) Prepare the scenario, that is what you want to have on the picture, the skins, the vehicles if any, the various objects, the background scenery, the time and weather. Time will influence the suns position, and the plane you may fly or object you may drive. You can use the Mission Builder to create the whole scene and animate it. 2) Record a video. Yes it seems strange to do a video for still picture but believe me it is the best way. Once you are in a position with the action as you wanted to have use the Rctrl+R keys to record the video. Start recording before the action of interest and stop afterwards. 3) Playback the video and find the moment you would like to freeze for a picture. Use the timeline to find that moment. Position the camera where you want it to be. 4) When ready start the video maybe 5 seconds before the picture instant and slow down the motion to the maximum. Hit the H key to hide all video information overlayed on the picture, as well as the mouse arrow. The image is clean and the video will play very very slowly. This allows you to arrive precisely at the right instant. 5) Freeze the action using the P key. Beware that between the moment you hit the P key and the freeze there will be about two frames that will pass before the effective freeze. 6) Check the picture and: a) if you like it hit the SysReq, or PrintScreen key to record the picture. b) if you do not like it then hit the H key again to get the video edit overlay hit the P key and repeat back from point 3) above. This method is the best to capture extremely fast happening events, like explosions, guns firing, tracer bullets, rockets leaving, bombs falling down, hits on water, ground splashes etc. I will record in the coming days a new P40 screenshot showing this kind of fast event. If your action is simple and there is no very fast action that appears in just one or two frames then you can do it straight ingame according to DetCord12B post above Edited September 26, 2018 by IckyATLAS
Cybermat47 Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 You can also add non-steam games to your steam library, and then use steam’s screenshot feature.
