In IL-2, a LaGG-3 is more dangerous against 190s than Spit IX will ever be, i let you guess why, and yes i'm serious. Oh, I no problems believing you that. It is the cure of the Spit IX as we have it that it makes one teribly careless because in many situations you actually get away with doing something stupid. But if there is a competent 190 around taking good chances, the only consolation is that PK shot from the back are rate in the Spit. I guess I know what you mean about the LaGG-3 (a rare bird we have), but I don‘t like it too much. The Mig-3 is just prettier. And does well up there.
CUJO_1970 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 There are different methods of fighting - the energy style demanded by German fighters is simply not intuitive to most people. The developing nature of aerial warfare proved the energy technique to be the superior method (and future) of aerial combat. The P-47 will be the first Allied fighter we have that demands the energy technique. You aren't going to TnB dogfight a bunch of German pilots who have spent the last few years online fighting Yaks and Spitfires. 2 hours ago, JV69badatflyski said: Indeed, a lot of plumbing, just like in a car... what i see is a fragile systeme, in the fact that just a small hole from a 7.92 will make this stuff loose a lot of pressure and one 20mmMineGesh. will simply rip the plumbing apart, making the engine loose all it's pressure, what means just enough power to stay in flight and go home. So the question would be: is this syteme 3d modelled and especially is there a DM(hitboxes) linked to it? (to all componements, plumbing, intercooler, turbo) If you are curious about vulnerability of P-47 (and B-25) based on tests: http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a800394.pdf This document is a pretty sobering reminder that any aircraft, no matter how "rugged" does not respond well to being shot at - especially by 20mm and 30mm canon rounds. 1

Looks very interesting, just like a drug for a " chart addicted" ?Edit: dtic.mil is like a goldmine! thanks! Edited August 5, 2018 by JV69badatflyski adding
