HagarTheHorrible Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 How would it be achieved ? If Tank Crew does manage to integrate some form of combined arms with player controlled aircraft, how could they go about achieving that ? Aircraft are going to zip across the TC sized map in fairly short order. Do you think it would be possible to put a map within a map, a highly detailed TC map within a larger, standard BoX style map ?
Legioneod Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 (edited) Combined arms is already in the game. Multiplayer servers already have this and it works well, you could also just have tanks on the larger maps if you want to fly larger distances. The large maps are still detailed enough to use tanks. Of course we can use the current maps but I will wait until we receive the new map for Tank Crew to judge the quality of combined arms action.
=AGW=Master Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 (edited) The maps are as detailed as wwiionline's. The biggest thing is the hitboxes for structures. You cant shoot a round over a fence because the fence sticks up 10' into the air and wills top everything. The houses extend a few feet past their 3d model as well. They need to do a full pass on the hit boxes for every object on their current maps and then it will be a lot better. If you play the stock german mission for the new TC content that first set of buildings that the ambush takes place in shows how poor the structures work. Rounds that should hit are colliding with invisible structure. Edited August 2, 2018 by =AGW=Master
