Man o Day..... I am just now getting to my PC since Tuesday.. thank goodness for tablets... LOL. I am feeling better but it is sloooow..

Anybody in here had a bout with a nasty bug in the last 12 months that knocked them down?

Had Dengue fever twice last year. The last one was really bad, it took me two weeks to recover.

Get well soon!

I hand viral pneumonia about five months ago, It took about three weeks to identify it, multiple courses of antibiotics and then I was on a ventalin inhaler (for the first time in my life) for a couple of months . It really knocked me a round and I ended up having a couple of weeks of work all told. Felt like complete crap!

How did you get Dengue fever twice in a year?!

No problem here in Bangkok obviously. We are surrounded by construction sites, as always here in Thailand, and they have workers from neighbouring countries and from the country side where Dengue is more and more common. One mosquito comes from one of those camps to me and ....

I'm told there are four strain and that you are immune from the one you just had so I got two to go.

If your old and weak it might kill you, I lost 4 kg in less then a week. No drink. no food.

I had dengue last autumn, not a nice thing at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dengue_fever

And no, I didn't get it in Finland... I was working in St Barths from September to December, and got it there.

The next worse thing to just the projectile vomiting, diarea, fever and just feeling very sick was the internal bleeding. My body was going black and blue and I had the feeling that I had been beaten up with a stick (some viewers might smile in joy!) and couldn’t move or walk properly. Not a good thing if you have to go to the loo in a rush. Just see the graph on that website, it was on the hour for me. How was yours?

That sounds rough.. I hope you are getting better. It is so funny for me because I used to never get sick or injured much.. and in the last 18 months I have had Meniere's induced vertigo to the point where I was out of work for almost 3 months. I took a fall in November where I dislocated a finger on my left hand and I still do not have full mobility in my left arm yet... I am not used to that kind of stuff at all...
