Promo Code and Support tickets

Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone that contacted support either here or at the RoF site regarding the Promo Code has gotten any response at all.

I have emailed support on both sites and still not a peep. Anyone else?

Not a peep here.

Contacted support the day after the patch came out.

Nope, Sent ticket in day FC was released. Have not got a reply as of yet. I do not expect to get one at this point.

Thanks for the replies, glad it's not just me.

Guess I'll just have to wait for FC to go on sale.

No response. Very disappointed

I sent this in as a ticket to 777:

Hi,

I've had ROF since the beginning, I bought it in Box Set. I have purchased all available ROF planes, maps, etc. and have also purchased all available BOS since I want to support all your efforts (and thoroughly enjoy all of your products). However, I didn't see any promo code for the long time ROF owners in my profile. I went ahead and purchased both FC and Tankcrew regardless. I would appreciate if you could look into this and maybe provide me some credit toward future purchases.

Thank you.

I got this response:

Hi,

Please help us to understand the problem by describing the situation step by step.

Necessarily, illustrate the description with screenshots

I think the original message was quite clear. Is this an automated Bot reply?

And BTW... I'm not complaining about a lousy $10 or $15 discount. And I'm also not sure if I bought AND activated the game prior to the cut-off date. I just found the response amusing.

At least you got a response, even if it was a bot, lucky you.  I must be on their ignore list.

I can't even take solace in the 25% offer as I already have BoS, BoM and Kuban.

Such is life, I guess. I should be used to it though, I'm old enough.

It would have been nice to have been able to transfer my $15 discount code to Tank Crew though.

I'm guessing that this second round of emails/discounts is our answer. I just wish we could use the 25% BoBp, it is the one I'm most interested after FC.

I send a ticket today but have no answer yet. But that would've been surprisingly quick. Also I didn't make a request or asked a question. I merely pointed to the fact that I find myself in the somewhat ironic situation that I get a promo code for supporting RoF but can't use it because I support Il2 also ( I have all editions, collector planes and campaigns).

Still no any response.

I think our biggest mistake is love ROF and 777 too much. This is the retribution we deserve.

This is exactly what happened to me as well. Identical response text requesting screen shots. Gave up and just bought it. :)

Just got the same form letter today, already bought in, a little disappointed.

Guys - The promo codes worked for me but it took me a while to realise how to find them.

You have to log into your RISE OF FLIGHT account at https://riseofflight.com/store/il2_promo_code/

Most of us (who have bought lots of DLC in the past) will see 2 codes there, one is a discount code for Flying Circus and the other is a discount code for 25% of any existing RELEASED product (ie: Not Flying Circus or Tank Crew as they are still in early access).

Take a note of your codes and then log back into https://il2sturmovik.com/store/flying-circus/

Add flying circus to your cart and then you will see a field in the CART screen that allows you to enter PROMO CODE 1, PROMO CODE 2 etc.

It worked for me. I got $15 off Flying Circus so I was happy. (Though possibly a wee bit disappointed that I got no special discount off Tank Crew when I bought it).

Hope this helps!

Ahh... Thanks for the head's up Maxiku! I thought the promo codes would be on the Sturmovik site. I do have promo codes on ROF.

My pleasure, Vonrd!

Anyone replied to the auto-bot response ?

If you did, did you just repeat what you'd written earlier ?

Given that it's holiday time I don't have any hope of a real reply anytime soon.

At the moment I'm holding off buying TC until I get a meaningful reply.

I got no response, but also not entirely sure that I have correctly associated my steam purchases as they do not appear in the 777 purchased list.

Like everyone else here, I too got impatient for WW1 VR goodness and just bought the damn thing anyway.

I do feel we are kind of encouraging them to ignore the issue though....

Sorry to everyone else holding out.

edit: and straight after this post I read maxiku's very informative post.  tried the code on that page and it did work.  I only have myself to blame....

Nobody has gotten a response from tech support. My game is unplayable and I am on day 11 with NO response. Its definitely not acceptable. I know people like to justify this, but the reality is there its not right.

I received the same canned reply today., if anyone is counting the days.

just going to link this thread as my reply

I bought ROF (actually additional planes) when it was really cheap but I think the BOX market model needs to be reassessed.  I am not going to buy the Flying Circus or whatever it is being called.   I have purchased BOS, BOM, BOK, and the BOD early release.  I am not going to purchase anything else.  Combat FS is evidently a small community but it isn't going to expand at the current price being charged for what are essentially new maps and planes with some incremental improvements. Combine the price with the need to upgrade GPU's and eventually computers.  For me, it isn't the money but the cost/benefit ratio.  The new WW1 sim uses the same flight model as ROF -- why should it cost $69 (or in my case maybe $64).  The inability to buy good HOSTA's easily  also contributes to the problem.  I purchased Crosswind Pedals but buying a Virpil or a VKB stick is a very difficult. I am using a Gladiator but have a couple of MS FFB sticks that I am going to go back to if possible. (CH Throttle and Quadrant).  I am getting ready to build a new box (probably with a 1080TI) which will probably cost around $1200.  And I hate to say it, but I am building it to fly jets (guess what game?).  Jets have hydraulics or fly by wire - and FFB is not so important. My criticisms of BOX:  BOX has far too little going on on the ground (how hard is to build in randomly generated ground activity -- I know there is some ground activity but it is very little) and it  has far too little in the way of campaigns and missions.  I am too lazy to learn to build my own missions.  I know or have available most of the books on the Great Patriotic War in the air but I want a mission editor where I enter a type of mission, opposition (with variables like altitude and time), details of my flight, etc. into something like an EXCEL spreadsheet. Basically a SQL type interface.  I admit that I am lazy but even though I am retired, I only have a couple of hours a day to fly simulators.  A mission building interface that allows one to enter a dozen or two variables and select random events (2 109's instead of 4) should not be very difficult. I don't have anything to criticize about the flight models except the Soviet planes are modeled (I think) to official performance specifications which were almost never reached by operational units (think 10 to 20% slower for example).   That is my impression and that could be easily fixed by programming in random deficits in performance -- Some for the Germans as well since their planes were not perfect. I have almost exclusively flown early Soviet fighters and the successes I have had against the Luftwaffe is not realistic (mostly I have just messed around in quick missions but I have tried a few other things).  Finally, why can we not communicate "break right" and "break left" to our wing men or flight or squadron. Once, the game moves to the West, I hope it allows the use of realistic tactical formations.  If you are flying Soviet Planes then the lack of communication is realistic.
