Do you have any tipps for a better image quality in the Oculus Rift.

I tried Supersampling with the Oculus Debug Tool, but i dont see any Difference, maybe i made something wrong.

Is it normal that all what is a few kilometers away look like shit?

Get and use the Oculus Tray Tool for setting your SS. Works much better than messing around with the debug tool.

Latest version is 0.83.1.

Some folks will set their SS in Steam VR, I myself prefer to set it in the Oculus Tray Tool. However in Steam VR, you will want to go into it's settings as it will be automatically set at an adaptive type resolution, change it to manually at 100%. Increasing that value applies Steam VR SS. If you use it there, do not set SS in Oculus software.

Set up a profile in the Tray Tool for IL-2.exe. In the profile you can set your SS, also whether you want ASW on or off. I get better results having ASW off and no gun-sight squiggles or double image of planes as they fly by me.

You can also set things like audio switcher, audio confirmation that the profile is applied ( I like the gal's voice ) and occasionally a profile may not apply and you will know when it does not if you do not get audio confirmation.

You can also set audio fall back device when you close Oculus Home, to say your speakers or whatever.

I don't know what your system specs are, but you can see my specs in my sig and I run SS at 1.5 in the Oculus Tray Tool. That along with having the landscape filter on Sharp really helps the image quality. Plus the landscape filter is basically AF, and it gets rid of shimmering of the terrain.

Also assign the Hud toggles to button on your stick or throttle, Hud enabled eats performance pretty good. I only toggle it on when I need to see something and then toggle it back off.

Assuming you are running Nvidia GPU - go in the Nvidia settings menu and set to " Prefer Maximum Performance". I do this with a profile for IL-2, you can also set it globally if you prefer. Leave all other Nvidia settings at their default of "application controlled".

AA in the game settings helps, depending on your rig you should be able to run 2x or 4x. I find even just 2x really helps in image quality.

Image quality it VR is not up to what one get's with a monitor yet, but with some tweaking one can certainly get it looking pretty decent. I am very happy with what I have and the image quality I am getting. Been flying IL-2 in VR since the day they released support for VR.

Hope this helps, and welcome!!

Whups sorry, typo.

Should have just been AF...

I will correct that.

Wait my post does not have the aa at the end of AF? Weird.
