Feathered_IV Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 This is a bit of a question for the developers. I have not bought Tank Crew yet, but I've watched some of the gameplay videos and noticed that tanks seem be a bit of a one-man band. The guns are loaded anonymously and without comment (hard to know when the next round is ready). Also there are no reports from driver, gunner or radio woman about sightings, hits and other things that are going on outside. From what I can tell the player needs to micro-manage every position in an otherwise empty tank. Now I fully realise that this new game is only two weeks old and everything is subject to change. I also appreciate that it might be the intention of the title to focus heavily on multiplayer combat, with groups of players cooperating to occupy individual tanks together. However as I am considering buying, and I do tend to prefer singleplayer over MP, I thought I'd better ask. What plans are there for AI crewmen and to what extent will they be implemented in this chapter of Tank Crew? 1
Fercyful Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) ÷1 I think we all hope that they will add 3D crew for tanks like in planes. I like to see/think TC is an "stand alone" game (priced like that) and not just a revamped internal tank mod. This is an early access so until I get a big NO I still hope for 3D crews and many other features already included in other tank sims out there. (Many of them were already announced) That is why I give support and bought all IL-2 modules and if they deliver I will buy the collector stuff. Have big hopes for TC! You dont get tank sims each day out there hehe Edited July 27, 2018 by Fercyful

Just to clarify; I don't mean 3D crewmen like the jobless mannequins we have in the aircraft. I mean ones that even if they are invisible, act as eyes and ears to what is going on outside.
BladeMeister Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) +1 to both of what you want. Feathered IV, lets just hope that the radio calls for any enemy unit spotted don't end up being the endlessly repetitive messages like we get in IL2. There has to be a more realistic way to implement this, like maybe limiting each message to 2 or 3 times then dump. I just know that i get really sick of hearing those repetive messages from all Squad mates. ? S!Blade<>< Edited July 27, 2018 by BladeMeister 3
Fercyful Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Yes, want both: 3d crew (I like the plane mannequins using machine guns) and AI speech feedback

I'd prefer if they didn't say the range in all honesty, or at least make it have a margin of error like +/- 100-200m. It's already easy to get kills in the Tiger at 1500-2000m, I don't want to make it any easier.

Yes agreed, for playing the game it makes more sense, not to mention the distance. I, too, prefer guessing it on my own.
wtornado Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 After 7 painful years of World of Tanks they can make, add and do whatever they want to. I will accept it all with pleasure. 1
Gunsmith86 Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 If they give a range it would be quiet realistic for them to do normally the commander (400m) and driver (600m) would estimate the range and tell the gunner. He would than add both together and divide it through two ( 400m + 600m = 1000m; 1000m / 2 = 500m exact range to target). He would than add another 100-200m to the range (depending on the height of the target. On small targets you shot with the exact range ) because you always want your shot go far enough and never just a view meter to short! If he now aims for the middle of the target he can be sure to hit it even if the target is 300m farther away or 300m closer than they estimated thanks to the good ballistic of the 8,8cm On 7/28/2018 at 2:14 AM, Legioneod said: I'd prefer if they didn't say the range in all honesty, or at least make it have a margin of error like +/- 100-200m. i would say even more +/- 300m would be good
