Mapping to Joystick

I have recently purchased FC and am having some difficulties. I have a Gladiator MKV and unlike RoF I can not map most actions to my joystick. Items such as Camera zoom, fuel mixture and radiator will not map to the joystick. Any ideas pls or is it because the game has not been fully set up in that regard. Thx
