He doesn’t need to turn TiR off when he goes to outside view. Very surprised he is not aware iof that as he has obviously been using it for a while. Also surprised he doesn’t know how to record tracks?

The TIR thing is a habit from others sims and to be honest he does not know much about the sim. The reason he does not cover BOX is because he has a rule that he does not cover updates and as BOX is an ever evolving product he does not feature/follow it in any of his vids. He also does not really consider it a sim because it is not a system based sim. I can understand that he should not cover every patch/dd we get but he should cover the major versions we get. I have been asking him for years to cover BOX instead of another scenery add on but he always says no.

I was looking to see if this had been posted, you can tell he was having fun, so hopefully he'll continue to learn the in's and outs.

I have also been asking, but he wasn't the only one from the DCS/P3D study sim side who gave Il2 a berth, however the positive of this is that he has covered a mature product that is still evolving. If he had reviewed Il2 at the beginning with the unlocks it may not have been so favourable, indeed I think his only negative had to do with the UI.

I just bought Stalingrad and Bodenplatte because of his review. I had IL2 1946 but hadn't flown it years. I have been in xplane and p3d VR for the last year or so.

Welcome! VR is a blast in this game! As you probably see; don't hesitate to ask the community if you have any questions or issues! It's a great bunch with a huge amount of knowledge.

Also, there is an official TS, and a community Discord somewhere. I'm not near my pc but im sure someone can get you the links!

See you in the skies:)

Yeah, listen to what he says halfway the video:

"Look! Look at this! Look at this! Look at this!

Shadows from the clouds. Anything we want in the big civil aviation sims Il2 has and has had for a very long time. 64 bits.

A-m-a-z-i-n-g perfomance. Amazing perfomance. Like in VR easy hitting 90 frames per second.

Moisture effect! Look at that! Moisture! All over my cockpit.

Beauuuutiful. Beautiful. Shadows from the clouds. Shadows from the trees. The trees are collidable.

Anything you see on the ground is collidable."

And his enthusiasm goes on when mentioning the level and attention to detail, damage models, water drops when flying low over water.

It is actually the 2nd time he talks about IL2. The first time only briefly a year ago and now a half hour dedicated video. :):good:

It's good promotion for the sim definitely. But honestly I was a bit disappointed - the guy has been with the hobby for so long and he could at least, give more accurate detail on the history of the series, if he bothered to mention it at all. And then comes the worst part... He is playing this with damned engine management assists?! Literally unwatchable! ?

I do not like him because of his treatment of the series but at least he has made a video which can't hurt.

And today Frooglesim talks briefly about Flying Circus, Tank Crew and Battle of Bodenplatte in his weekly News Update.

Ah yes, true.

It seems he will post it tomorrow.

Let's just wait and see.

I am happy he chose the LAGG 3 in my opinion the plane that gives a lot of physical feedback. A treat to fly. A very good review that actually might bring in more people.

Yep, still my favourite. I have always been impressed with how heavy it feels.

I apologize for the quality of my audio. This was done through Skype. I don't have a fancy mic like Froogle. ?

Agreed. Really positive interview Jason. Really explains the whole product and its current position well to those that are not aware.

Nice interview Jason! Got me excited about the future, tanks especially.

Froogle forgot to ask how to centre the gunsight in the FW190. It might have improved his shooting.

Marketing wise it was a good "interview" and I hope it will draw more members to our community.
As a hardcore player it was too much "salesman" for me, wished there would've been more new info but I guess the video wasn't for that purpose.

However I don't agree when Jason states that "the sim is for everyone, ppl who just want to shoot some planes out of the sky...etc."

I mean, if you just want to shoot some planes out of the sky you're not going to pay 50+$ for a product - you go to free alternatives like War Thunder for examples. I don't know if this is only marketing talk but I hope that they don't develop the series with those ppl in mind. The price sets a pretty high bar for new players and if you pay that kind of money you expect a certain level of sophistication (which the sim delivers).

Of course it's good to have a product that is easy to pick up and hard to master, but in the end I want more good career mode options than quick mission options so to speak ;)

So again: please more detail work and less "boom, zooong, thud!" :)

Great to see that Froogle has finally woken up to IL2. I used to get very fustrated by his lack of coverage.

At r/il2sturmovik there's a new Q&A with Jason that's maybe more to your liking:

I liked this interview a lot because it will make more people playing our great sim.

More people = more money for the dev = even more features and theaters for all of us!
