HagarTheHorrible Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Came across these a couple of years ago, while clearing a house. The chap was a torpedo bomber pilot during the war. The carrier pics are his, I think, but I'm not sure if its the same carrier, the photo paper, finish, was different on both pictures. Can anyone identify the carrier, I think the photo's were taken in the Med. The rest of the pictures are ones that I think he must have come across, abandoned by some German soldier, maybe even the one in the picture. I think the wiggly edge to the pictures indicates German rather than typically British. I think they may have been found in the ruins of Tobruk as another picture, that I haven't included (unless you like looking at pictures of the Virgin Mary in a bomb-damaged grotto) said "Tobruk Dec 41" on the back. I don't know where the ferry pictures were taken but again presumably N Afrika.
Chief_Mouser Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 HMS Illustrious? Pretty sure it's an Illustrious-class carrier, anyway.
