Liyla Litvak is the most decorated female fighter pilot of all time as a fighter ace in World War II. She shot down 12 German planes for the Soviet Union, garnering her the name "The White Rose" of Stalingrad and ace of The Night Witches.

Looking at what the writers have done it doesn't look too good Always check up on the director and writer if you don't know them. More than one screenplay writer is almost always a bad sign. Red Tails had four.

mmmh I think it's a bit premature to judge something that hasn't even started yet? Having said that, thanks for the heads up, never heard of this project before.

Oh how I want this to be good. Unfortunately it's almost a guarantee that it won't be. It's not even certain that it's gonna get made.

 

It's extremely telling, that Litvyak is called "ace of The Night Witches", when she flew exclusively for the 586th regiment which was a day fighter unit (The Night Witches was 588th). Cleaarly, not much thought has been put into this yet.

 

They also manage to misspell both her nickname and last name.

Well let's hope it's good. I would really like it to be. Isn't there a big mystery about her weather or not she servived? Something about a friend that is positive she married someone from Swtzerland but officialy she is KIA. Maybe I'm wrong.
