AI pilots being tagged as captured when exiting career missions early

This is one thing that's making it aggravating trying to keep AI pilots alive in my squadron in career mode: if I have to make a forced landing and thus exit the mission while my comrades are still flying over enemy territory, they are all instantly tagged as captured as soon as I end the mission. It doesn't matter if their planes were undamaged or not - if they are over enemy territory when I exit the mission, poof, they are gone. This really needs to be fixed.

In the mean time, direct them to RTB ASAP, before you (crash-)land....

 

I don't play Mission or Career, but it's really annoying if it's like that...

Can't do that without being the flight leader.

If you order them to rtb in the middle of a fight (usually this is the case when you find yourself being shot down) your AI will just break off and fly a steady course home at cruising speed.  They take no evasive action and the enemy chews them to bits.

This must be fixed i always put time speed to max and go eat or watch tv for while so they dont get captured after flight.

 

Worst is when you have to bail out since the flight ends when you get to ground

Flight should not end when you bail out and hit the ground.

 

This kind of stuff should have been noticed on testing phase.

What I find even worse is, when my engine gets killed over enemy territory, but I am able to glide back to my side and land back there. The game counts me destroyed, where the engine dies, so over enemy territory, and I get captured, however I should be safe, ready for next mission.

I've noticed the devs are usually very tight lipped about anything to do with gameplay in this video game.  Have they commented on this issue at all and mentioned whether it is on the to-do list or on their dream list?  It's very hard to know what is work in progress and what is set in stone.
