Will multiplayer be in trouble?

Simple question really. I have fond memories of the dogfights in RoF multiplayer. It was the sole reason I stuck with it for so long. I'm concerned however that there will be serious issues populating servers when the WW2 servers are highly likely to always be full and the overlap won't be there as it might with Tank Crew and the like.

 

This is of particular concern to me as I'm in Australia and my timezone isn't the most populated to begin with.

 

Forgive my doom and gloom, but having found a bunch of empty WW1 servers and the usual suspects offering (quite exciting to be sure) WW2 action, I'm concerned that the major servers won't switch to WW1 because half their players would vanish and what will be left are empty dedicated WW1 servers.

As of last night there was only 2 servers for WW1 open to the public, the rest was private or WW2.

... and one of them had 8 vs 6 players which, by todays Wargrounds / Cuban standards be is a lot. Mix of RoF, ex-RoF and WW2 names. Spent ehole evening there, lots of fun.

 

Who's running the Shooting Stars servers, anyway? I never needed to know that and now I don't know whom I want to hug for providing server on day 2.

I think its based in Japan. Just send them a bottle of Sake or tickets to Ninja Warrior.

I guess we at The Syndicate will be back to WWI MP, more than a guess really ;). Dont know if we will set up a server as in RoF but be sure we will be there somehow, organizing events for example.

I have a question concerning Expert MP servers. Is the in-cockpit map not available, or I'm doing something wrong?

FC is so new and, for many, 2 planes simply won't be enough to  push them to whack up a permanent server (it  could happen obviously)

 

As we go on in development I bet you'll see regularly busy WWI servers.

 

These things take time to establish

So there is no mini-map in Expert mode?

I saw it on some servers, not all. 

The minimap is much worse in BOX than in RoF anyway, because there is no way to free mouse cursor - you can't scroll it. In Normal mode, it just shows neighbourhood of your GPS plane locator. Without GPS, without map magically scrolling ant telling you where you are, without way to scroll it manually... there's little point in having one.
