My bombs won't explode. I always set the bomb fuse to active before dropping so this is not the problem. I tried using different planes with different bombs. I tried different fuse timers (contact to 15s) and different altitudes (500-1500m).

I always watch the bomb drop via bomb camera and it just plunges into the ground and does not detonate.

Please help.

To guarantee bomb detonation at any altitude/speed, you must set your bomb timer to at least 5 seconds.

I have set it to 5, 10, 15secs...nothing. What else could be the problem?

Try to deactivate your bomb (set bomb fuse off) and release the bomb! Oh wonder - the bomb goes off! Fantastic detonation.

Problem is: The great update 3.005 enhanced the bombing experience and put some challenge for us. To make the bomb

detonate you have to set the bomb fuse off. Nice, isn't it?

 

Sorry, to be so sarcastic, but it's a brand new f***ing bug!

Lol! Thx Therion - it is as you said. Another new bug seems to be that the game wants to link my Il-2 account with my steam account every time I start the game...

Well - I'm not sure if this is a feature - just select the left square and the game will start normally. But you will have to do this

every time you launch the game until they have fixed this feature.

Wait, wait wait!

I experienced today on different servers a strange thing.

All my bombs, thrown from different altitudes, speeds and with different bomb timer options - did NOT exploded.

They were "active" aka "hot" aka "scharf" (german) aka "armed"......is this that bug you are talking of?

OK - let me explain: When I start a bombing mission, I always switch off the bomb fuse when taxiing and during takeoff. After that

I usually switch on the bomb fuse (ich mache die Eier scharf), which is indicated with a green bomb icon in the technochat. Now,

when you think your bomb are armed - schaf - because you have the green bomb fuse icon, they are in fact deactivated with the

update 3.005. It's a bug - I tried it on different planes and it's working wrongly with every bomb and is independent from timer

settings.

Yeah, I do the same for "realism" reasons.

So, than I will, until this is fixed, throw my bombs UN-armed aka "in safety mode" ...?!

I came close to realizing this myself yesterday (well actually, I just realized that bombs were now realistically un-fused on the ground and I had to fuse them just before going in hot), but it never completely dawned on me.

Little did I know that there's probably just a wrong minus-sign in some line of code ?

In my experience:

bombs start "fused" by default in missions; if I dropped it "as is", it won't explode

 

instead,  I need to toggle to un-fuse, then fuse again, and it will work
