What is the maximum number of DX controllers in BOS?

I apologize if this has been asked before but I made a search on the forums with negative results.

AS tittle says, is there a limitation to the number of DX controllers other than the 16 supported by windows?

I have a lot of "gear" connected to my PC. Problem is that when I leave my 5xPCDASH2 connected, it is impossible to map the axix of my Saitek rudder. Rudder is DX controller number 9 when all the controllers are connected.

Nevertheless if I disconnect 4 of the 5 PCDASH, rudder becomes controller numer 5 and then i can map it.

Disconnecting these PCDASH2s everytime I want to play BOS is not really an option. So, any ideas?

Funny thing same thing is happenning in ROF.

I can tell you one thing.  Over 8 controllers and the game crashes when you exit.  Same with ROF.
