RhumbaAzul Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Excuse if this post becomes a bit long-winded. After playing IL2 and it's accompanying DLC since late 2017, i signed on yesterday only to find the message about fraudulent keys etc. After a bit of WTF'ing i recalled that i'd originally bought the key in question from Kinguin. Now, while i'm not one for believing everything that i read on the web, i did recall reading that a lot of these sites are selling keys obtained fraudulently and this somewhat tempered my ire. After all? isn't 'caveat emptor' a often bandied reply to those finding themselves in situations such as the one if found myself? What didn't sit so well with myself, and many others, is that after buying from a site such as kinguin, we then went on to buy DLC from the so called 'legitimate sources' and then found we could not use them. Personally i think that i spent around 15 uk pounds on the base BOS and then went on to spend approx 350 pounds on DLC from 'legitimate sources' after i realised how much i enjoyed the game. I think this is the crux of the matter with many of those affected. Anyhow? rather than bitch and moan i put my money where my mouth is and re-bought the BOS base game from Steam for the current full price, mainly because i couldn't be bothered waiting for my original key to be removed from the IL2 site so i could repurchase it from the official site at the discounted price. I wanted to play the only game i play then and there and not have to submit a 'ticket' and wait maybe days for my fix, call me impatient if you like, but im 55 years old and can't be bothered wasting time these days, life like money, is too short. I'm really pleased that the developers have decided to re-instate the deleted keys/accounts but i really do feel that this whole situation could have been handled so much better than it was. Still, i hold no grudges and have within the last hour just bought Flying Circus early access, being a sucker for anything WW1. I wish the devs all the best and hope that they and the users of IL2BOS learn from this situation and can move on to bigger and better things. 1 1 1
