Aircraft numbers config not always working?

I saw the following problems:

I tried to create a mission where I intercept a bomber flight which is escorted. So I selected max and min enemy flights 2 and odds of escort to 100 but I only saw bombers or fighters, never both of them. The enemy squadrons are all fully equiped. Did somebody see escorted enemy bomber-flights in the last versions?

Then I chose 1 enemy flight min and max and also odds of 100 escort but still no escort, only bombers. 

So I guess that an escorted flight consists of 2 flights - right?

I severely reduced enemy fighter cover.  With fighter cover in place the result was the skies were filled with fighters who would always go after you.  As a result every mission turned into a dogfight and, worse yet, ground attack campaigns were almost unflyable.

 

I will revisit the odds parameter to see how it is used.  Maybe I can do something.

I don't know what or how the variables work but something like:

Chance of friendly fighter escort: 1-100%

Chance of enemy fighter escort: 1-100%

would probably be pretty handy.

Hmm, when I fly escort in the official career-mode I usually use autopilot and my flight stays pretty Close to the escorted Bombers.

Maybe they changed the AI or use different Parameters?

PWCG has two categories of flights, on the board and virtual,  The only on the board flights are the player flight, the player's escort,  and the flight being escorted by the player.  For on the board flights involving an escort, PWCG uses  the "Cover" MCU which will cause the escort to stay close.  

 

Virtual flights are different.  Every plane is independent because you cannot create a formation out of spawned entities.  They are made to look like a formation by providing identical waypoint offset only by the needs of the formation, but it is every plane flying its own route.  The escort is not really escorting the bombers.  They are just flying the same path.
