Question on default head position

Ok so I know I can adjust the in cockpit camera head position per the manual, which I have done for the Spitfire to get my position where it should be in VR.

My question  - is this a global setting or are those changes specific to the aircraft they are adjusted in?

I have been flying the Spad today, but when entering the cockpit in VR my position is far to the right, I re-center it to get where I want but would like

to adjust it also like I did for the Spit so more of a permanent thing.

If I do so, is it going to change the default position I already have for the Spit?

Appreciate any tips,

No, I believe your head position is plane dependent.

You can try this with the 109 series aircraft - between the E's, F's, G's and all the variants, setting your default position in one doesn't propagate to the others.

Slightly off topic, I wish we could get a more anthropomorphically correct virtual neck model and more accurate default head positions.

Good to know as I certainly did not want to mess up my Spit position, thanks much I will go ahead and adjust for the Spad.

Each plane has a default setting of it's own, you can individually change each planes head position without it affecting other planes.

I think you have to pause the head tracking and set up keys to move the head position, at least with trackir it works that way

1 pause the head tracking

2 center the view

3 move the head position to where you want it

4 save it F10 default

5 and resume the headtracking

Yes thanks, I am familiar with how to do it - I have to do it outside of VR.

No biggie and well worth the effort. Saves me a button press or two each time I climb into the cockpit.

The default head position is in my opinion too far forward. I always shift it back against the head rest.

The position in German planes is also set to line up with the crosshair, not the centre of the cockpit so I fix that too.

Are you playing in VR?

Nope. I'm assuming they use the same logic in VR as they do for their default positions.

oh I was just wondering since you move the 109 seat position. I found it too hard to move my head with trackir, but I did the same when using VR, moved the default to center, it's easy to look through the sight in the headset.
