Anyone using a Saitek Throttle Quadrant with BoS?

If so, what controls do you have mapped to it?

I'm currently using my old Saitek AV8R (paired with a MS FFB 2 stick) for things like Prop Pitch, Mixture, Rads etc. I'm thinking about getting a dedicated throttle quadrant, which I guess means the Saitek as the CH is more than I want to pay. I see there are 3 levers and 3 rocker switches, does that mean I can map 6 controls? How does that work in practice?

Ideally I want to map:

Prop Pitch

Mixture

Supercharger (assuming we might eventually get + / - settings rather than just the current toggle)

Water radiator

Oil radiator

Flaps

Elevator trim

Rudder trim

Any other devices I should consider?

That list is pretty solid.  Although I also use it for throttle and use the throttle on my stick for prop pitch for more precise throttle input but I guess it is up to personal taste.  The rocker panels work best for open shut/on-off situations.  To further trouble you, Saitek also has a 9 toggle switch beast!  ( I have the 3 rocker  model)

Ok so the switches are switches in their own right, they're not there to change the operation of the levers in anyway?

the two-way switches are independent and make 6 possible key-mappings

I use levers for:

- radiator

- mixture

- prop pitch

Well, I was not too fond of the saitec levers. They gave up on me (spiking very bad) when I used them for a couple of months.

Had two of them (6 levers and a bunch of switches). I only use the switches now.

Bought me a CH quadrant and it's still working (was about 3 years ago). No spiking, no troubles.

The CH may cost you more initially, but on the long run.......

I have used saitec with my Logitech 940, with the sliders set for fuel mix (red), water radiator (blue) and oil cooler (black) - easy to remember colour code!  These seem to work well, especially as they do not have to be too precise.

This leaves 940 throttles free for throttle (left) and CSP control (right).  (I think the 109's prop pitch control will go on a button on the joystick once we get it).

The advantage of this set up is that it closely mirrors the actual arrangement in the Lagg  - may have to modify for other types.

I am having problems with the buttons: I have tried to fix a button on the saitec for E = engine start. It usually works, but for some reason it does not always work to switch the engine off. Since I have the same problem with RoF I am either setting it up wrong or just have a defective product. :(

i use a pacific av8r with saitek throttle quadrant, and i am very happy with that.

I use the throttle levers for:

 - Throttle

 - Propeller

 - Mixture

then the three rockers for gear toggle/engine star-stop - flaps up/down - supercharger up/down

while i use the two levers of pacific av8r for water and oil radiators.

prop pitch, mixture, the third one I haven't mapped yet.  Not made up my mind.  Might depend on which plane I fly.  If the plane has auto rads then the lever is kinda wasted.
