[DBS]MDS1 Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Hi Folks, Firstly If I have posted in the wrong place, or this has been covered elsewhere - apologies, please point me in the right direction and delete this post. I have carefully read as much as I can, and watched a you tube install of the PWCG, I followed the instructions as best as I am able, but I get these error messages. It's pretty obvious I have installed the PWCG in the wrong place, C:/Program Files (86)/Steam/steamapps/common/IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad. I thought that was the root folder of the game, but according to the attached screenshots of my desktop, obviously not. Please could someone patiently explain to this Old Guy, where I have gone wrong. Thank you very much in advance - and once again apologies if this is a dumb question, and has been covered a gazillion times before. Kind Regards, MDS1 (newbie - can you tell?)
PatrickAWlson Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 if this is the IL2 root directory: C:/Program Files (86)/Steam/steamapps/common/IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad. then there should be a data and missions directory like so: C:/Program Files (86)/Steam/steamapps/common/IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad/data/missions PWCG is trying to write a mission file into the mission directory, and cannot find that directory ... note to self, improve the error message.
[DBS]MDS1 Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 (edited) Thanks very much for the quick response, I can't wait to try out your hard work with this Campaign Generator! Problem Solved, thank you It was a unzipping error, the "Folder inside a Folder" old chestnut Edited July 17, 2018 by MDS1 Problem sorted Unzip error
PatrickAWlson Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Glad that you got it running. Feel free to ask about anything. Documentation is not my strong suit and there is a lot there. The basics are make a mission and submit a combat report. However, other things like looking at pilots, equipment, intel, making journal entries, etc. are all there to enhance the experience. 1
[DBS]MDS1 Posted July 17, 2018 Author Posted July 17, 2018 So far so good, big thumbs up to you for making this! Thank You!
