Camille88 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What about the engine sound from Yak? Will it be the same as Lagg´s? They got the Klimov engine right? Yak is my favorite WW2 plane and im not a big fan of the Lagg engine sound
Sternjaeger Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I posted a video of a genuine Klimov engine here http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/3788-original-klimov-engine-yak-1/ 1
III/JG53Frankyboy Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 in BoS both will get the Klimov 105PF AFAIK, so i assume they will sound the same.... 1
Bussard_x Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I hope the Yak is a bit better, flying campaign with the heavy LaGG-3 is short lived I'm afraid.
Camille88 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Yak will be better thats no question. 1
Finkeren Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Well, the exhaust pipes are shaped differently on the Yak, so we might expect a slight variation in engine sound but not much. I think I read somewhere that the Yaks were exceptionally noisy for the pilot, so the in-cockpit noise level might be even higher than in the LaGG. The point were the Yak should really stand out when it comes to sounds has nothing to do with the engine however: All Yaks had pneumatically operated flaps and landing gear as opposed to the electrical systems on the LaGG. It was done to save weight, even though the pneumatic system was less reliable and more prone to damage than the electrical one. Most likely deploying and retracting flaps and gear in the Yak will sound much like the sound of releasing the brake in the LaGG.
Volkoff Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Whatever she sounds like, I can't wait for the Yak-1 Series 69. MJ
