bought bobp but cant use anything

so i just bought it, activated it and all and i see the red title bar in the main menu of il2 but i cant see any new planes, no career, no new maps nothing.

 

im more of an il2 1946 guy so all this is new to me on how to get everything activated and all

It's in pre-order basically, you'll have the spit IX and 109G only at this point, they'll steadily release the other aircraft through out the year and the map as well. It's done this way I guess so they can get the money to continue development at a somewhat constant flow rather than get it all at once

i understand that part, but even with the very few aircraft available i see neither. just the base il2 bos aircraft is all i have available.

Only two planes are currently available, content gets added as it is ready. You should be able to play with the spit ix and 109 g14 on some servers. Berloga, is kind of like air quake, I know these two birds are always available on this server.

As for the career and map, they will come much later. BoBP still has a long way to go before its expected release of fall 2019.

Well, as said in the post above - you pre-ordered a product that has only two planes to offer at the moment. There is no map available for

the moment and it's going to take some time till you will be able to fly on the BOBP map. To enjoy your two planes you might have to buy

either BOS, BOM or BOK. Sorry to tell you this.

Doesn't the Lapino map come as a freebie - even if all you have is Bobp?...

Pretty sure all of the maps are available to everyone.  People that don't own BoK can still fly on Kuban, just not with the Kuban planeset - at least that is my understanding.

 

I've always felt thankful that IL-2 didn't compartmentalize their player base by aircraft AND map like DCS did.

This is true only regarding multyplayer. You can't use a map that you don't own in singleplayer modes.

Ah, that would explain it.  That's fair enough I guess - rough if all you own is BoBp though.

Maps like Lapino and Velikye Luki should be available to all as they are not tied to one of the existing package. If someone bought only BOBP he should be able to at least fly the planes as they are released on those maps in single player. Obviously they are small maps with no career or other contents available...

Yes, Lapino and Velikye Luki will be available offline.

 

All the maps are available to use online on the servers, even the ones you haven't bought.
