Multi Crew Gunner - Please Wait

Hi guys,

 

Bought the game yesterday along with my brother, we intend to play as a multicrew in multiplayer. I spawn my plane (He-111), he clicks ESC and selects become a gunner, taking the nose gunner spot. He loads into my plane, however he gets stuck with please wait at the top of the screen, with the mouse cursor turning into the circle loading animation. We have tried waiting, but it does not disappear; when this happens he cannot click ESC or switch positions, he ends up having to close the game through task manager.

 

Note: from the last sentence, the game does not freeze, he can see the plane taking off and flying around. But the Please Wait remains at the stop of the screen, restricting him from taling any control.
