Salutations Fellow Tankers. :salute:

I am pleased too announce that I have begun work on my fifth tank mission for community play! ?

Tank Commanders, Rally your forces! The enemy approaches!

A non-historical Single Player Set Piece Battle

Player: Allied KV-1 Heavy Tank

MISSION: As the local Commander, you must use all the forces at your disposal to blunt the axis juggernauts advance.

Time: 07:20
 Date: 25th August 1942
 WEATHER: Overcast with Rain

MAIN OBJECTIVE: Defend the town of Gryada. Destroy enemy forces.

SITUATION: The Germans had paused over night during their wide frontal attack on our sector of operations.

At dawn, all along the front, Nazi air attacks struck with overwhelming force.

Yantar airfield was bombed and quickly captured. Our rear guard forces in the town of Yantar were quickly eliminate but they fought bravely and bought some precious time to allow other units to retreat north for further defensive operations in the town of Gryada and further north in Zarubovka.

The aggression and arrogance of the enemy may prove their undoing this morning. They have reportedly raced through Yantar and Sharygino.
Furthermore, the enemy has split their attacking force to attack Zarubovka and Gryada. They expect some more quick victories.

RE-ENFORCEMENTS: Small armored unit(s) from Stepnoye and east of Zarubovka. If available, air support.

I'll attempt to reconfigure my Thrustmaster FCS HOTAS for use in the tanks today. ?

I have taken some time to configure my HOTAS for IL2 tank use. My input file works as it should and by using JoyToKey, (must run in the background) I can aim the tank cannon with the joystick.

Oh, some have reported that he slider on the T16000m joystick will not work for them. I have it and my FCS throttle mapped for acceleration. Both function as they should.

Happy tanking. :salute:

If I want to fly, I have to load the Default 'input' file or one of my own. If one wants to drive tanks again... load up your save tank 'input' file. Or just play with the mouse.  This is a pain in the butt but we currently have no choice. ?

Wow... while playtesting my next Hold The Line Kv-1 mission.... I sent my section partner out to the west to hinder the approach of the second half of the German attack force.

I sent him to a chosen elevated location along their approach route.

To my surprise, he took out seventeen tanks. a mixture of Pz 38t, Pz III L and Pz IVs.

I knew he was a hotshot tank commander but he ensured our victory this day. Yes, his tank was pounded good but survived. The Kv-1 is a tough tank with a great gun.

Just goes to show, that even playtesting can be rewarding. ?

Salutations,

I desire some playtesters for my latest Hold The Line Tank Mission. Available below. Tank Crew is required. I've been developing if for almost a week.

PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK ABOUT YOUR MISSION EXPERIENCE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY ANOMOLIES. THANKS.

You only have your section of KV-1s, one T-34 inbound as re-enforcement and a platoon of T-70 light tanks and Ba 10s. They are backed up by a variety of second line artillery. The only real advantage is the elevated terrain of the town.

To win, you must survive and destroy a lot of enemy armor. You can lose two ways... get destroyed or allow too many enemy armored units into the precincts of Gryada. How many? Kill them all,  just in case.

P.S. It can be won. But then again, I created the mission. Thanks and good luck to all playtesters. It will be included in the overall HTL series if all goes well.

Note: Place both included folders into your games Missions folder. Arrows indicate expected enemy column approach routes.
