Key Mapping of ESC key problem

Recommended Posts

I've binded all my controls to my t16000 hotas with no problem.  Except for the ESC key which I bind to a joystick button.  But for some odd reason it won't work.  Keyboard's in an bad positon with my hotas setup and I'm in VR.  I know I can reassign through some thrustmaster program but it should work through the game key mapping. Very odd.

Usually when the esc-key doesn´t work you have some otther key sending comms at the same time! Check that all yuor swiches and buttons are on neutral when you try to use the esc key. Do a test with ie notepad (alt+tab to desktop start notepad to see if there´s something generated, ie a letter or something else).

The only moments I had "esc" key problems is when I had problems with my keyboard, maybe see in that direction?! :salute:

Can't remember which ones exactly, but I have run across one or two myself that show bind-able to a button but in fact do not work.

Checked this before and checked it again but to no avail.  Seems the Esc key isn't rebindable to a joystick button.  Just to reiterate, the Esc keyboard button works, it's just when I bind it to a joystick button the joystick button does nothing. I have to find the Esc button on the keyboard, which is a little tough in VR.  It's not  a big deal but  it would be nicer to just hit the joy button.

Then I´m out of options! Might be that it´s hardcoded in some way to the keyboard.

I have the same problem. I ended up just adding it into the profile for my throttle, fine for me but if you have to profile for just one key that sucks.

Wow that thrustmaster target program uses like 1/2 a gig of RAM! So definitely won't be using that for 1 button.
