332ndSandman_359 Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 This is a simple question. I have a group of about 15 to 30 ppl that do il2 mostly on wings of liberty. Or taw. We have been currently using the wongs teamspeak and have tried discord in the past. The question im getting at here is, does anyone have a idea or way to setup teamspeak (or discord) that we can have whisper like settings so bombers can talk to bombers and fighters talk to fighters. But if the bombers need help they can whisper to a fighter group? I know its not really a mod. But arma used task force radio and i loved it. But i know il2 cant have such features. Any help on this would be appreciated. Im sorry if other ppl asked this before but we r all getting frustrated talking over eachother but know that we might need there help so we just deal with it. But if anyone has any way to make a whisper system work would be awesome. 1
Sketch Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) You can setup whispers easily in Teamspeak. We use whisper lists all the time for each flight with no more than 4-5 pilots in a flight... and in a channel. The flight leads (for each channel) press a button to whisper to every other channel, and/or another button to whisper only to the flight commander (who would be in a channel with his/her own flight of 4 pilots). I've been able to successfully setup whisper lists in TAW teamspeak and the official BoS teamspeak (as well as other teamspeaks for other types of games). Also, Whisper Lists are one of the most requested voice utilities for Discord. Someday... someday...

You can whisper to a person if that guy is always the bomber leader. If a different person is the contact guy each time they can make themselves a channel commander and you can whisper to just channel commanders. This is the best as you do a lot less messing with whisper lists. Go tools/options/hotkeys then Add and show advanced options. Find Self and open channel commander. Make a hotkey to toggle channel commander on/off. Then in the whisper list you want to select "whisper to" -groups and "group whisper type" -channel commander. You only set up one key to transmit to the "command net" . Anyone who needs on or off the command net just toggles their channel commander status. 2

In my experience, this works great in squads, but not so much in public teamspeak.

DD_Perfesser Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Another handy keybind is a couple of keys set to next channel up/channel down. Instead of whispering to channel you just drop into it.
