So we are getting tanks, but what about light vehicles? :P we will get mobile aaa guns but then it would be cool to expand into lighter stuff, sdkfz251 with at gun behind you, you could drive it and set up your gun and shoot at other tanks ^^ maybe puma as well. While halftrucks may be a bit of a dream, puma would be quite a nice premium vehicle.

Salutations,

There is no telling what we may be offered in the future, if there is enough interest shown to the developers. :salute:

I fondly remember playing WWII online. I really enjoyed taking out the Pz 38t (light tank) because it was small (easily concealed) and had a pretty good gun. I loved setting up ambushes with it... retreating... ambushing again. WWII Online terrain/woods blocked LOS as it should. Great fun and a challenge to stay alive. The 38t is already represented in the game but it is just AI controllable currently.

The puma with the 50mm would be nice, also the pakwagen

Always had a soft spot for the Pz II Luchs................

The British and Americans have a whole host of armored cars, tanks and AFV's to explore as well. I'm sure if tanks are a success we will explore these as well as those from other nations in time.

Being able to deselect the armament on the two AAA vehicles and select a cargo load out would be good for extra mission options too.  A sort of Ju-52 of the roads.  Eurotruck Simulator, WW2 edition...  :)

or troop transport :) Would be amazing to have AT gun behind your truck and some soldiers on truck, "unload" them and you got yourself a AT gun position.

I am hoping for some light stuff, especially panzer 2

I'd actually like one of the cars to drive around for racing. Failing that a T-70 or T-60 would feel out a part of the experience that we don't normally get (same with a Marder).

I could think of a lot of more worth while stuff to add to the sim.

If you want to drive a truck just buy an old flatbed and start a side business hauling stuff for people.  Every so often hit the brakes hard, stop, and jump into a road side ditch to survive an imaginary IL-2 attack.

Lol, don't worry.  I wasn't serious and it will never happen anyway.

We will get the Sd.Kfz. 10 with Flak 38 and the Zis-5 with the 61k gun, that's been said in the announcement.

I am sure people would say that about ju52 :P  I think one bored dev could easly do that, a truck would be something a modder could even make easly. I would actually like to see ground transport, when i play Darkest Hour i like to spawn a truck and carry soldiers into the battle. Transport is fun :-]

I know we will, but that's anti air stuff. Topic is about light vehicles like on the picture i put. Panzer 2, diffrent puma versions, sdkfz222 etc.

Hello, I think that the current set of ground vehicles available in BOS etc. suits perfectly well to the needs of a combat flight simulator but needs some extention if the simulation is about fighting on the ground.

Regarding softskin vehicles of the year 1943 a must-have are the VW Kübelwagen and its allied counterparts GAZ-67 and Jeep. Civilian type passenger cars like the Horch 830 and the GAZ-M aren't credible rides for frontline units of that period. Further down on the wish list stand the Opel Blitz van as a workshop/radio truck or ambulance and the lend-lease GMC or Studebaker trucks.

The Panzer II would be a welcome complement for the BOM, BOS and BOK scenarios because it was still the German main light tank and in use in large numbers into 1943. Indeed this type took part along with the Pz 38(t) in operation "Citadel". The Sdkfz 222 scout was in service throughout the war and definitely took part in the Kursk campaign, however, sorry to say so, the Puma was scheduled for mass production launch in June '43 only - that is to say it arrived after the battle of Kursk.

On the Soviet side one could think about US built M3A1 armoured scout cars and halftracks but my sources are not clear whether they made their appearance in the fighting for the salient.
