Still possible to kill folks in their parachutes after recent updates?

Digging up this old thread because I noticed something in game today while playing a single player mission in which I was defending my air field from attackers. One of the attacking Germans was shot down and had bailed out over the airfield. Two AA guns where absolutely unloading on him as he drifted down. there were no other targets in that piece of sky and they were clearing aiming for him. I didn't see if they got him because I had to deal with other attackers.

 

Is this by design? Will the AI choose to shoot at a parachute?

Ive tested this, and yes they do. Bailed out aircrew are shot at if in range.

They shoot at everything, their AI is primitive. They will shoot at crashed plane even if they don't see it... and if you are on airfield, they will even hit their own stuff that is on a way and destroy it.
