disable radio messages

Is there a way to disable the constant and annoying to distraction incoming radio communication while in quick mission mode?

 

He doesn't shut up,I don't understand a word and it's to the point now where I just want to jump out of the airplane.

Not so far...

 

you can change the channel and listen in to the enemy, but they haven't yet provided a simple off switch. I wish they would, it's an immersion killer for me too.

 

The only possible solution I have come up with, but have yet to find the time to try, is to use a mod a bunch of people have worked long and hard on to convert all the radio sounds to english, you'll find it in the mods section.

 

I figured that if you swapped all the audio files with a blank audio file, like the one that just happens to be found in E:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Audio\radio called empty.ogg, you might jus get the silence your looking for...massive amount of file renaming has so far put me of...need a batch file or something

I did download that mode yesterday and then the 3Dmigoto to help install it.

 

Although I launch the sim through steam BOS did not show up when I looked in steamapps and after a failed attempt to install it to my IL-2 folder I got the mod installer.It took me quite awhile to get it all running but I'm happy to say that I managed to do that this morning.

 

It's brilliant.Thanks for the help and to the modders for all their hard work.
