Is there anybody out there flying bomber campaigns in PWCG?  How about Ju52?

Based on feedback I know that there are fighter, ground attack and dive bomber players.  However, I never get any feedback on bombers or transport.

On a side note: I did actually see an AI generated Ju52 flight in a PWCG mission.  They will not be as common as other types but they do happen.

I've flown a few bomber and flying boat campaigns in PWCG in the past. The biggest issue I'd say there is is the lack of escort fighters.

This isn't much of a problem for nocturnal bombers like the Handley-Page and Gotha, or for the Felixstowe flying boat, but it is noticeable when flying WWII bombers, and, to a lesser extent, the Ilya Muromets (the S-16 was specifically designed to escort the S-22).

Ive flown the Ju52 Pat,but so far I've taken paratroopers or cargo..A option to have escort would be amazing.

Thank you for your continued work on your CG it really is outstanding . :good:

Hello Pat, I tried the new version of the program last night using a Ju-52, transport flight with me as second aircraft.

Had to fly twice as I was eventually brought down in the first.

On completion of the second successfully, or so I thought, I went to set a new mission:

Not really sure how you find out what caused the problem but this is in the folder:

Directory being copied is E:\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\PWCGCampaign\..\data

Set product to BoS

Set product to BoS

Whatever that means.

I replaced the previous version as instructed.

I assume that landing at the assigned airfield and unloading was the mission end, with career in the main game you always fly as a single aircraft and return to your home field, is this the way with your generator also?

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

I have flown few missions with Ju52, and I really love different mission types than just the cargo transport to different airfields.
Sadly I have never seen fellow wingmen drop any paratroopers or cargo. I guess its not a big deal, since it most likely does not matter at all even if they were to drop them, but at the very least it would add to the immersion of actually doing something, rather than just flying suicide missions into enemy airspace for no good reason, as I feel like there is no real effect of your actions when flying Ju52, other than dying of course.

As a little unrelated note, I personally would like to have some incentive to actually try and finish any and all objectives that missions have, since it kinda ruins the roleplaying when you can just say "f**k it" without any real consequence. One might expect to face court martial and possibly to end up facing execution for disobeying orders... but thats just me, of course you do what you want with your product, and that sort of feature might be little too much of a effort to implement.

Other than that, I have really enjoyed every flight with it, and the official career mode does not allow you to fly any other missions than just cargo transports and that is more than enough of a reason to use your CG.

Long story short, thank you for the campaing generator and I cant wait to see more from you even if its not for the Aunt Ju.

Glad the Ju52 career is working out.  The AI should drop the paratroopers and when I tested it did happen for me.  Not sure if there is anything that I can do as getting the AI to drop ordnance is an ongoing issue.  Sometimes you have to do things just right to coax it into behaving.

On the mission objectives: I could definitely do more with that.  I am unaware of anybody ever being shot for failing to complete a mission.  A more realistic outcome would be to limit promotions if objectives were not completed - some sort of reputation or status indicator.

Yes, that would probably be more appropriate way to handle it.  ?  It was just a minor suggestion.

Yeah, I have tried about 6 times now and no luck having AI drop their payload. I understand that the AI is a bit wonky on its workings and it´s not fault of your CG necessarily. Thanks for the reply anyways, I will continue to try and get them to drop at least something, although usually that just means their own plane...

Just to make a update on my luck, now I have seen at least once the AI wingmen drop their paratroopers on target. Don´t know what have prevented them from dropping before, but it seems to work when the conditions are right, as you said.

(Brings smile to my face to see several dozens of paratroopers falling slowly under heavy AA fire. Thank you again for making it possible. ?)

Hello, pat. I enjoy your PWCG everyday. I'm a Japanese high school student and I'm not good at English, but please pardon my poor English.

Now, to get to the point, I have a question about the mission of level bombing. It means "Is it possible to simplify the route of a level bombing mission?". The reason for this question is that while I was performing a level bombardment mission with He 111 H6 just the other day, I was unable to aim at the target because there were many changes of course before the bombardment and I was immediately above the target after the change of course. Maybe there's a problem with my way of playing, but I would appreciate it if you could reply to this question.?
