klebor Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) It was so irritating since old IL2 and War Thunder you don't use the compass inside the cockpit but some artificial GUI. It breaks the immersion. I propose it should be locked like speed, alt and the rest and not visible when unchecked in options. It will make the navigation only a tiny bit harder (if at all) and a ton more fun and immersive. Every single plane in the game has the compass inside the cockpit. And people who don't like look at the compass in the cockpit are playing with map icons anyway so noone would be upset. Edited June 29, 2018 by sereme1 1 1 1
MicEzo Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) It would make navigation flight even more immersive. Especially with bigger planes like Ju-52, Po-2. I support. Edited June 29, 2018 by MicEzo 1
kramer Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 It would be nice. In Rise of Flight you didn't have this UI compass, you have to look at the compass inside the cockpit. It was big plus for immersion. 1
unreasonable Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 It is apparently an aid for those without TiR or similar, since some of the soviet planes have the actual compass hidden behind the control column making it impossible to use without TiR or VR. I like to play with a clean screen - no icons, no map icons, no instruments, no technochat icons: much more immersive. But that is easy enough for me since I have TiR and a very large screen, so it does not bother me what anyone else uses.
