Ju88 Right elevator rod broken bug ?

When shooting on purpose into the elevator from the dorsal gunner position, there are 2 weird things I noticed :

 

1) No matter which side, left or right, you shoot into, after a few bullets you always get the message "right elevator rod broken" Isn't there also a rod for the left side ?

2) As soon as your "right" elevator rod gets broken, you always loose control of the whole elevator, not just the side you shot into.

 

Is there a technical explanation about these or should they go into a bug report ?
