BigPickle Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Please reduce the snow glare, its overkill, it masks details in the environment and makes spotting very hard. I understand in real life snow blindness is a reality but it doesnt happen 24/7. A great detail but over done. 1
Picchio Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Like you said, it happens during a clear sunny day - just like the weather conditions that we're now given. 1
gx007 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I agree with this Pickle. This release has way too much snow glare. It was very difficult to identify land marks even at 5K. I know some people are running SweetFX to increase contrast with ground onjects but I elected to run the game in native mode to assist in testing. Upon release I'll probably use SFX.

No, I didnt say that it happens on a clear sunny day at all, dont just make shit up and pretend someone has said it. This is what it said Please reduce the snow glare, its overkill, it masks details in the environment and makes spotting very hard. I understand in real life snow blindness is a reality but it doesnt happen 24/7. A great detail but over done.
Picchio Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) No, I didnt say that it happens on a clear sunny day at all I understand in real life snow blindness is a reality Again, it simply does happen given certain weather conditions - conditions that are basically the same as those we're given in current missions. You don't like it, cool. Besides, it's been said that it's being re-worked by the developers, so stay tuned, it may receive a few adjustments soon. Edited January 30, 2014 by Picchio
BigPickle Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) Do you understand what snow blindness is, Its when your retina's are burnt from the light reflection off the snow. It doesnt just simply happen regulary, prolonged exposure is needed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photokeratitis I'm saying the in game bloom is a more like a representation of how it looks when you suffer from snow blindness. Very glad the devs are tweaking this over done effect. Edited February 3, 2014 by BigPickle
Picchio Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I do understand that, what I don't understand is if you're referring to the global brigthness of the picture that you seen on your monitor, or to the bloom effect that you can only see on rare occasions, producing a green halo, and which is more like a glitch at the present state, imho.
Conveen Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I agree with this Pickle too, please reduce the snow glare! Real or not real, this is not interesting on this. Fact is, it is too much! Also missing dark places without snow (bomb crater, dirty places etc)
I/JG27_Rollo Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I agree with this Pickle too, please reduce the snow glare! Real or not real, this is not interesting to me. My opinion is, it is too much! Also missing dark places without snow (bomb crater, dirty places etc) Fixed that for you. For me, the snow glare is fine. Have you tried, adjusting your screen brightness, if it's too much for you?
