Howdy Folks
IMHO
They need to split up mods into those that effect MP and those that dont
and allow those that dont to work with "Mods Off" Or in Online modes.

Many mods that would work great online cannot be used but would never effect gameplay online or fairplay.

Like my Hangar Mod i been working on Cannot be used by players in MP servers with mods off but dos not give any sort of unfair advantage.
All that it does is allows More camera control on Main hangar at game menu and allows more Camera control at the hangar in mission where you setting up plane.
Pan, Zoom, Move Camera Position & Improved hangar Lighting.

Or the voice mod someone made.
Or the swatstika mod someone else made.

This may sound like a good idea, but it's extremely difficult to implement. 'They' (I assume you mean Il-2 employees) would have to waste precious resources on a 'mod police'. A more sensible option would be to let server administrators choose mods. However, this still wouldn't do anything without a system for verifying mods.

Some games use addon signatures to cryptographically verify that players are only using mods allowed by the server. This technology, while certainly not groundbreaking, still isn't easy to implement. Again, the developers lack the resources for such projects.

really ....

ill take a paypal wage of $5 Euro an hour and ill check each mods contains no files that will effect MP and approve them..

With all mods currently available it will be a small wage of about $20 euro all up haha. .
i mean current mods would take 4 hours for a nooby to check files.
Approved mods will not work if a file is not added to the mod folder by devs (or someone)
Game just will block it.

It's not that simple. You have to write many lines of code to 'just block it'. This is a project that could easily require several days of work.

Of course, I'm not saying that the suggestion is impossible; it's just very unlikely to happen in the current climate.

S!

The easiest way would be 3 different settings...

Option 'ModsOff' - No mod allowed
Option 'ModsOn' - All mods allowed (manually installed by the player)
Option 'ModsServer' - All mods installed on the server are downloaded to the client on mission download

This would need a separate directory that is
- cleared before mission download
- contains the serverside mods after mission download
- used only in case of 'ModsServer'
but would also be a security risk because of automatically installed mods on a client pc
and I'm not sure if there is no way to install some kind of 'malware' that way...

The voice mod works without mods turned on, I use it all the time.................
