357th_Dog Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Hello all, Thought I might create a thread to spitball ideas as to what virtual USAAF squadrons might stand up when the time comes, and with what aircraft? I currently am in a virtual CVW in DCS and had kind of thought about doing the same thing for Bodenplatte when the time comes. 1
357th_Dog Posted August 21, 2018 Author Posted August 21, 2018 Hmm...nothing yet it seems. Maybe I'll try to get something going closer to release...
Legioneod Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 My buddy and I fly together alot but we really don't have a squadron, we can never find anyone thats dedicated enough to fly in formation and use tactics. When Bodenplatte fully releases we plan on flying the P-51 and P-47 mostly, but will also fly the P-38 occasionally as well as some of the German types.
ACG_pezman Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 I’m collecting a small group of dedicated pilots to operate during US East Coast evenings for the next TAW campaign. Currently we have another group of mainly attack/bomber pilots, dedicated fellows, who are looking to have a fighter group attached this time. If your interested, we can find some time to link up on Wings of Liberty and get to know each other. I’m a chill person but I plan on having a more tactical environment when flying and less like a bunch of random people chatting on teamspeak while playing games together. Not that I’m opposed to that. let me know, we can get something going to transition into BOBP when it drops.
GSP_Hund Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Hello, I usually fly only German type birds but for the coming BoBP I'll be stepping into American platforms with zeal. I'm in the Florida panhandle and CST time zone, so I'm currently flying solo (by choice) but willing to fly with others so shoot me a line and lets blow stuff up. Edited August 24, 2018 by Hund
Garven Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I'd be interested. What do we call our selves, Zemke's Wolves?
ACG_pezman Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Well I'd say we first need to find a time and day that we can fly and see if we have chemistry. I enjoy being laid back and having fun, however that mentality lead my last squadron to ruin, so this time I would be seeking more dedication. I say that because, while there were people to fly with in the squadron, we never actually worked on making or improving tactics and SOPs that I believe we're essential when we got into combat. So, I think we should meet on TS one night and fly some wings of liberty to get a feeling. If y'all are interested we can arrange something.
Bill_Bates Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Im Central time zone. This seems like a perfect fit for the both of us, send me a discord link. lets fly 1
=475FG=_DAWGER Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 The 475th Fighter Group will eventually make our way over here once the P-38 is on the near horizon. We have been together 20+ years (Warbirds Aces High and some box titles) although our numbers are currently only about 10 active flyers. We have a mix of experience and skill levels. We have the resources to train guys to a high level team tactics if they have the desire to improve. Currently we fly in War Thunder simulator battles but I have high hopes for Bodenplatte. We are P-38 centric and have a hard time motivating ourselves to fly anything else more than occasionally. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM. Here is a recent War Thunder stream of Dobs and I so you can get an idea of our comms and teamwork. 1
[TWB]Sauerkraut- Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 I'd be up for it, although I have to say I'm not entirely sure how much I'll be able to fly with college starting in 3 days.
Hoss Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 I think there might be a 392nd FS, a 487th FS, No.501Sqd in the works, once BoBP comes out I'd start looking for them. There might even be some LW squadrons for the 190D and 262. Cheers Hoss
SOLIDKREATE Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 429th FS, 474th FG, 9th AF is standing up with P-47 to hold over until the P-38 drops. https://solidkreate.wixsite.com/mysite https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/40133-p-38j-429th-fighter-sqaudron-474th-fg-9th-af/
