Game 3.0004 - Pause

Have just updated to the latest version and when entering a mission or a quick mission and the game pauses when first entering the mission it will freeze. I press 'P' to unpause but nothing happens and I have to reboot the computer.

 

Have just rebuilt the computer New MB, CPU, GPU 1080ti  and PSU plus 32mg ram. I have a HOTAS cougar running with Target software. The game doesn't pause on every try can be fine for a while then will just pause for no reason.

Just had a quick fly before posting this without running the target software and it ran fine admitted with no joystick control but as soon as I ran target software the problem was back anyone else had this problem?

 

Hope you can through some light on it.

I take it no one else has had this problem with what seems to be Thrustmaster Target software, have checked on other forums but couldn't find much info on problems with 'Target'.

 

I'm running Window 10 pro not sure if that could be part of the problem.

My first thought with it being a new build, have you run any stress testing on it to make sure it is stable? Something like Prime 95 perhaps.

Are you doing any overclocking?

 

Also I would try running without TARGET for a while ( map main functions in game ) to make sure it indeed only happens when TARGET is running.

No not ran any stress test but will get Prime 95 and run it and see what the outcome is, I'm overclocking an i7 8700 to 4.7 everything seems to run fine except when TARGET is running even Photoshop and any other software I have runs fine with no crashes/freezes thats why im thinking its Target software, could alway try Cougar control panel and foxy and see how that runs but been that long since i used it last Ive forgotten a lot on how to programe it!

 

If I get time tonight I have another look and run Prime 95

TARGET should run fine with no problem, do you have the latest version?

I "think" it is 3.0.16.520.- However I have not used it in a while.

I will have to check if it's the lastest version, may just download it again and reinstall.

 Ran the prime 95 programe and the system passed all stress test, ran it twice without any problems showing up so not sure what it causing Il2 to crash once I enter a quickmission.

 

If its not the Overclock then not sure what it could be.

You could try running some GPU benchmarks and see if you get any strange happenings.

Like 3D Mark or Heaven.

 

Is it still only with TARGET running that this happens? Any problem with any other games?

How are your GPU temps with that 1080 Ti? Are you running like Afterburner or EVGA Precision to control fans?

 

You could also try mapping your controls in the game and run without TARGET for a while and see if the problem goes away?

Thanks dbourne for your help will give it a go running 3D mark etc and see what happens then, yeah still happens when I run target but will run fine if the CPU isn't OC!

 

Will run without Target and see what happens. This is the only game I use but run Photoshop, Daze studio etc without problems.

I suspect there may be a clue in the "running fine if the cpu is not OC" statement.

Just my luck to have a CPU I can overclock but the game doesn't like it and yet other people seem to OC and run th game without a hitch!

 

My aim was to get a Ocolus Rift and run with the overclock lets hope I can get is sorted .
