Guest deleted@134347 Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 It's definitely non-functioning in VR. Even when I manage to place my head and both of my "eyes" behind the filter (in cockpit VR unrestricted mode/unlocked, i.e. very close to the dashboard) the sun still shines at a blistering 1000% thru all of the surfaces. As a matter of fact the whole sun blocking detection in VR is uncalibrated in my opinion. Sometimes it gets blocked by one of the cockpit pillars, sometimes it doesn't, I can never find the definitive position. Is it just in my setup or you guys experience it as well?
Nibbio Posted June 18, 2018 Posted June 18, 2018 IIRC the sun gets blocked only in one eye, the right eye I think. Never tried the filter.

Never tried the filter. well, the idea for a gun sight filter (in axis mostly) is when climbing after someone in to the sun there's an ability to get some visual clues as to where the enemy is. It's literally just a piece of tinted glass that pops up for you to look through. no matter which eye I used there's zero effect from it.. ?
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 My RL polarized sunglasses are much better. The sunfilters in IL-2 have never worked, neither on the monitor nor in VR, sadly.

Good to know it doesn't work on the monitor either, i.e. the VR folks aren't in any disadvantage because of it...
