Tried to put all kinds of missions in, sorry if I missed something...

I thought it would be interesting to see what the most popular kind of missions within the community are...

Multiple choices are of course possible!

I like the high-altitude recon plane interception missions you sometimes get. You have to navigate to where the likely intercept point is, correct your course, and keep an eye out for the enemy plane. It's pretty neat! And its one of the few missions in the career right now that happens at higher altitudes.

I picked bomber escort. Flight simming is the only type of gaming where escort missions are actually fun. There’s just something about the challenge of keeping contact with the planes you are escorting at the same time as you’re fending off enemy fighters.

Ground attack is a close second.

I just slightly edited that second option... to be suited for more variations...

I enjoy flying ground attacking missions, all kind of stuff happens there...

Hi-alt interceptions also have that special flavour, some of the old farts will perhaps remember last mission from Japan fighter campaign in IL-2 1946... in briefing it says something like "country surrendered and you are all grounded" but you actually find it possible and appropriate to take your A6M5 for a dusk patrol - one last time... sure enough you encounter lone B-29 and the dance starts...

From the same game, I also remember interception, albeit low alt one, of Pe-8 VVS aircraft in Finnish Fiat G.50/Hurricane! It was the first mission in Finnish fighter career and that was some wild stuff...

I’m not kidding when I say this, I have, and usually spend my time in QMB either solo flying, or shooting down ai bombers. Flying solo in QMB is very therapeutic & calming, and I really just like to admire the aircraft in flight/landing/takeoff. On the off chance I play multiplayer, I do like to be a ground pounder though.

QMB was, if I summarize EVERYTHING I've ever done with this game, surely ahead of anything else regarding time spent... it was really great for practicing for multiplayer, once you reach some level you just need to be in good gunnery shape so QMB helped me in that regard... I also had quite fun with it, creating various wild matchups...

QMB as introduced in RoF and later in BoX series is big step forward and is in many ways better than old one... it doesn't come as surprise to me when I see people having much fun in this game mode.?

I went with protecting ground targets because that was the closest to patrol. I like not knowing what I might encounter. But really the best missions are the ones where the number of takeoffs match the number of landings. ?

Fighter sweep, simply picking a fight with everything Axis
