Luger1969 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Hi everyone. I want to create a custom snap gunsight view. The manual says: Head tracking etc disable which I did. "1. ...your camera mode is set to Snap . View by pressing the F9 key (Change pilot head control method: centered snap – fixed snap – additive snap – pan view). " How do i set my camera mode to snap? When I press F9 I only get responses such as gradual quick view, fixed quick view.... it does not say snap. If I then further follow the process (2-4) the only thing I change is my default head position which now ends up to being that of my snap view. I know you can change camera speed and interia and that would do a quick zoom in to the sight (either through pressing + zoom or insert to move head position) and also pressing . and numpad 8 will also give a very focused gunsight view but I want something that will be the same all the time and less zoomed in. I have been watching requiems deflection shooting tutorials and i want to get a proper view so that i can use the vvs sight fully....seeing both rings etc but still not be fully zoomed in. Thanks in advance.
[DBS]El_Marta Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) Hi Luger, "gradual quick view, fixed quick view , centered quick view" etc. are different modes of cameramotion. They determine the motion of your head from your default view towards the view saved on the pressed numpad button. "Centered quick view" afaik gives you an instant snap to the new position and an istant return to the default view. Just check the differences when you push the numpad buttons. You can alter the preconfigured views on the numpad buttons by following the steps in the manual regardless of the chosen mode. It is important that you keep the numpad key you want to save your view on pressed all the time, while you manipulate the aspect. You save the new view with F10 and finally release the numpad button.. If you want to change your default view on the fly just move your heas around and press F10. You do not even need to disable TIR for that. I hope this was of any help. Edited June 15, 2018 by [DBS]El_Marta
Hoss Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) Disable TIR, choose Fixed quick view, bind numpad 5, to either your throttle or stick....... zoom in to the closeness you want to be to the gun sight, hit F10. turn TIR back on. Now go into the Set-up screen and adjust how fast you want your FOV to zoom in/out for Fixed quick view. Fine tune in game until you reach desired result. You will have to do this for every plane you fly it's not universal..... the closeness to gun sight that is. Happy Landings Hoss Edited June 15, 2018 by 19//Hoss

Instant fixed (snap view) - while holding* the keys, for zoomed gunsight already exist in game, is Numpad 'Del,' plus '8'. For whatever reason this "snap view" is not listed in controls and can't no be re-assigned, e.g. for Numpad #8 only. With joystick software you can use this command as "toggle" if want.
