Good win to get things started, I'm excited for them. Tomorrow there's Portugal, but I'll have to wait until Sunday to see deary old Brazil in action.

It's a weak group and they had a great start, but i still don't think they will make it to the knockout stage.

Well, at least they managed to play good enough and to be qualified for the championship, didn't they?

Others didn't succeed if I can remember correctly, but I don't remember which teams are missing...

Oh wait, I got it - Hungary and Romania! Right? Oops, sorry, didn't want to ruin your day. :P

Hmm, you hit the post ?, Russia didn't have to play in the qualification, they are the hosts and thus automatically qualified. (BTW i'm not sure if they would qualify if they had to finish higher than either Portugal or Switzerland, see UEFA group B...).

Romania missing won't exactly ruin my day, Hungary, well, we are used to it .

I think the current England set up have gone a long way to lay to rest the shambolic ghosts of the "gifted generation". Qualified for the second round with a game to spare. Have they really played anyone yet? Belgium will no doubt prove a much bigger test. Well done lads for leaving the egos at the door and concentration on the team.

Russia vs Spain.

Here we go again. May the best team win. :)

The other game will bring some interesting moments. Godin vs CR7, Pepe vs Suarez. There is also a high chance of some Oscar-worthy performances .

I guess all the German fans are drowning in beer now, so can't post. There was hints of what would happen in pre Cup games.

Oh I see....apologies for being slow witted but doping in those terms serves no purpose in football.

'Fraid most drugs tests failed by footballers revolve around wealthy young men and cocaine.

Whatever the case, FIFA and WADA, coordinating with McLaren and Rodchenko, actually did a thorough investigation into the Russian national team and found absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. They have a good bunch now, a healthy mix of experienced leaders and hardworking youngsters. I'm looking forward to Sunday.

Russia goes thru on PKs. Spain ~1100 passes and couldn't break down Russian defence tho came close a few times. Thumbs up Russia.

A peculiar World Championship this year.

Italy does not participate at all. Germany back home, Argentina back home, Spain back home.

Tomorrow Brazil back home.

Well... for one simple reason; to say goodbye to that pathetic cry baby Neymar. :bye:

Croatia to the final. It a team playing a beautiful football, from a small and humble country which has never won a World Cup.

First time in a WC they have won on penalties, previous coaches didn't see the necessity to train for them...This one did :).
