Blitzen Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 (edited) There is a longish video, Convoy Attack currently available here in Videos(.At about 49 minutes in there is a nice sequence showing a torpedo attack by German s-boats on a Russian convoy: . It got me thinking..you designers surprised us a year or two ago with drive-able tanks( &of course the future Tank sim is in the works..) so I wondered if there might be a chance some day we could see ourselves behind the wheel of one or two surface attack boats? falle96 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Adding fast-boats would be neat. Kuban certainly has room for them, though most of the fighting would be littoral.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 (edited) Would be sweet idea but it would have to be very arcade like which I would be totally fine with. Edited June 14, 2018 by AeroAce
Velxra Posted July 28, 2018 Posted July 28, 2018 I would enjoy a "boat crew" verison of tank crew. The boats/ships just need control settings applied to them for it to function.
Royal_Flight Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I would be all over this. Just do a pair of boats for each side, an E-Boat or similar torpedo boat and a small fast gunboat size. Driver’s position and one or two gunner’s positions, as appropriate. Either driver or gunner could fire torpedos, depending. Doesn’t need modelled in any great detail and it would be no less gimmicky than drivable tanks are, and perhaps about as much effort. It would work great in Kuban or the Pacific, or any map with enough open water, human gunners could fight with aircraft and attack either player- or AI-controlled enemy ships, and it would add a load of variety and be great fun.
