unexpected explosions

Hi,

Dont know if it is a bug or purpose of unpredictable damage.

 

Approximately one year ago, and yesterday again for the second time ever I experienced this.

 

Was little bit damaged by shooting. Was going to land. And controlling of plane was in normal, engine runs well, just smoked little bit, and in the moment when I should make touchdown,  the plane suddenly explodes in one big fire ball.

My approaching speed and vertical speed was correct, my langing gear was extended and correct, so I dont know what exactly happend.

Were you landing on an airfield?    There have been some instances of certain maps having an invisible object that people have collided with but these have been in the middle of nowhere. I am sure if there was one on the approach to a runway it would have been fixed by now.

 

Other possibilities:-

 

An enemy shot you up on landing.

You were accidentally landing at an enemy field and go hit by a heavy AAA shell.  It does happen ?

Your wing was badly damaged and the act of flaring caused it to fail.   It is quite common to shoot up an enemy fighter and not seem to do fatal damage then 5 seconds later he makes a gentle turn and his wing comes off.

 

If you suddenly exploded in a big fireball though then hitting something sounds the most likely.  Take a look at this 35 second video.  The first death is almost certainly AAA but the second death is in friendly territory miles from any military targets or ground units.    The fact that plane just stops instantly and all the debris bounces backwards shows he collided with an invisible wall.

yes, my own airport, no AAA.

no enemy around me

And yes I was landing on the paved runway.

 

I have two ideas:

1. maybe the structural damage was sooo close to collapse, that even very smooth landing force destructed that ??? Dont know if such physics is implemented?

2. Collision with hidden object. (I prefer this) But that invisible object must appeared only when I approached, bcs, I landed there many times before and others as well.

 

Thats why I write about it, perharps developers will know. Or other pilots have already had such experience??

Yesterday Again !!!

 

Mulitplayer on 1CGS EU Normal DED Server.

Map of Stalingrad.

Akatovka Airfield.

6times I tried to take off and always after 50 m of run I hit the invisible wall !!. Plane stopped and partially damaged. If I tried to shoot the ammunition exploded exactle in the few m in the front of me. 

 

I tried roll little bit to the right but I hit the invisible obstacle again.

I tried to disconnect and take off again with the same result.

I took off from that airfield many times ago without problem. But that evening nothing helped, I had to spawn on different airfield.

Same issue on the Luftwaffe side. Same map. I had no structural damage at all and exploded on touchdown at the airfield. I'm dropping the name at the moment but it is the airfield NW of Gumrak.
