JG1_Shadepiece Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Hello guys, I am about to build a new computer, and I am looking to get a clean install of the game on a new hard drive. I don't want to loose all my mission, group, and config files. Is there a way to save all that, and import it all into a new installation? What folders or files need to be saved specifically? Some guidance on this would be much appreciated. Cheers! -Shadepiece
VesseL Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Im sure its possible, but i dont know exactly all the files you should save and import for the new install. Exept the data/input folder for your control settings, and data/luascript/ snapviews folder for your camera settings. Mission folder is also inside data folder and Group and Configs are somewhere too. Someone will know, just wait...
=FI=Genosse Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Hi Shadepiece, I would make a copy of following folders: "X:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions" & "X:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Multiplayer" for all of your missions "X:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\input" for the configuation files of your IL-2 installation "X:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Template" for all your groups you've created with Mission builder (ME). Just my two cents worth opinion ...
JG1_Shadepiece Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 Excellent! That's just what I was looking for. Thank you gents!

You need to back up these files: \data\input\current.actions \data\input\current.devices \data\input\current.map \data\input\current.responses \data\input\devices.txt 2. In case of installing from scratch, restore these files from your backup, replacing the existing ones. 3. This would work if you have the same controllers connected. IMPORTANT: because of these changes, device mappings may mix up after updating to 2.005. In this case, exit the game and re-start it again. If this doesnt help, you can change device IDs in this file: \data\swf\il2\storage\storeddevices.txt Only exchange between the devices the parameter highlighted in red: 4,%221b3634e0-a831-11e6-0000545345440180%22,CH%20THROTTLE%20QUADRANT| cheers Edited June 12, 2018 by bies
Lemon Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 hi I d say don't install inside C:\Program Files* folders cause the UAC , better to do a custom folder for your sim and other games, like C:\Games\il2 1
LLv34_Temuri Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Also take startup.cfg. It's in the data folder.
